DeviantART is an artists website mentioned on CNet. I'm not totally sure what DeviantART actually does for an artist but it is worth a look.
ARTsync: The Art Magazine of North Carolina. A new online magazine of NC arts.

Sandvox -- the software that I use to maintain this site. Mac only but a nice and straightforward package with an active user community. They have a profile of my site here.
Open Office -- I love open source software, both the idea and the actual products themselves. Open Office, available for Win, Mac and Linux, is one of the best
Celtx -- An open source screenplay package. Now if I can just get around to finally writing the screenplay....
